First YouTube Video...

So recently I decided to branch out into the world of YouTube...

With the enjoyment I receive from writing my blog and sharing all of my vintage and university stories I thought it seemed the most sensible move possible!

So with a Canon s120 and a tripod I made my first ever YouTube video...

For my first video I wanted it to be light and fun, so I decided to film a
1# 25 facts about me...

My next video that will be up will be 2# University Room Tour, for future videos im hoping to get some vintage ladies or men together just to have a good chin wag about all things old and glamorous; I will be filming anything that I think you'll find interesting and sharing it with you!

Hipshakin' in Oxford...

Sorry its been so long since my last post, but I simply haven't had anything exciting to talk about, I recently returned back to university for my second semester and have been working my little tush off everyday! Who knew that I'd have so much work?

However...

I found a 50's/60's rock' n' roll night in Oxford! *applause*

The Hipshakin' event is held once a month in an intimate little pub only 5 minutes away from my halls location, it provides all genres of music from swing, bop, jive, rockabilly...there's something for everyone!

I arrived with some friends around 8pm and first thing I heard was Gizelle- Voodoo, I knew I was in the right place! Everyone was so friendly and chatty there wasn't any hint of snootiness or arrogance, we all bopped and jived together until 1am and I can safely say that I will be attending the next Hipshakin' event...

But what did I wear?...

A nautical theme seemed to be the direction I was aiming for...

If you know me you'll know I love all things high waisted, and my old trusty Bernadette sailor trousers from Collectif clothing just had to be worn. I bought these early last year for around £50.00, pricey but a good investment considering the multiple times that I've worn them; if your like me and love to dance then I suggest getting a pair of swing trousers, as they give a big impression when your dancing!

This little navy striped bargain was from George at Asda, and only cost me £10.00! It is off the shoulders with an elastic neck line so that it doesn't slip, the navy happens to be a perfect match for my trousers...

The basket above is my all time favourite as it matches pretty much everything I own and was a cheeky purchase from the Rockabilly Rave last year, hopefully I'll be able to bag a few more at this years rave...

Accessories, what else but pearls?

Northern Soul Outfit..

Whilst I'm home I have to make the most of Northern Soul and Rockabilly events...

So when I had the chance to attend my local northern soul night on Wednesday in Birmingham I ceased the opportunity to wear my new high waisted check trousers...

River Island Check Trousers £15.00

As mentioned in my previous post I a totally in love with anything high waisted, but not only are these trousers flattering but so unbelievably comfy to dance in!

As ever I wore one of my polo necks with trousers, accompanied with some pearls...
Ask any girl pearls add sophistication and ooze class!

Kelly Noelle Check Trousers...

January means one thing apart from new years resolution, SALES...

Browsing through quite a few vintage websites online I came across these gorgeous tartan high waisted trousers from Collectif!

Kelly Noelle Check Trousers were a bargain at £20.00...

The trousers are tighter fitting than most vintage trousers that provides a modern take on the 1950s, I adore all things high waisted as they minimize the waist and accentuate womanly curves...

I accompanied the trousers with a red turtle neck jumper, which in my opinion is an essential winter piece that can be worn any where!

A Cheeky Selfie!

In my previous Christmas post I mentioned that I have always used heated rollers when curling my hair, but as I received some curling tongs for Christmas then I had to give them a go!

After learning the knack for pin curling (with plenty of arm ache!) I'm totally in love with this technique! I will be doing a post on it soon to share the hair love...

January Sales...

Its that time of year again! Sales...

Having your Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket, the January sales are the number on thing too hit; I browsed through a number of online retail companies but only managed to find some little numbers on Asos and River Island...

Grey Check High Waisted Wide Leg Trousers...

I've been after some more high waisted trousers for ages, I already have a couple of pairs of swing trousers but wanted some for everyday; whilst browsing on the River Island website I noticed these beauties...

Since being at university I've lost a terrific amount of weight, all I did was drink a ton of alcohol; best diet yet! I purchased these trousers in a size 10 with a regular leg for only £15.00!

Peplum Double Layered Bardot Dress...

What a little bargain this dress was!  From Asos at £12 reduced from £28

Its hard to tell but its a very pale duck egg blue dress, with double layered peplums to exaggerate the hips and minimize the waist; being very broad shouldered, this style of dress is perfect for my body shape...

White Leather Heeled Sandals...

You might have noticed in my other posts that I wear my white wedges quite frequently, unfortunately my beloved wedges have died an honest death... we can all appreciate that one pair of shoes that fit and look perfect and are impossible to replace!

However whilst shopping on Asos I also spotted this pair of heeled sandals, not identical to my wedges they are very similar in material and height. As im not a catwalk model and never will be! Heels aren't my best friend, a small to medium heel height is perfect too me and these fit the bracket perfectly...

From Asos at £17 reduced from £30!

Brushing your troubles away...
I've always used a Mason Pearson medium sized B7 Boar bristled brush but recently splashed out on a Denman natural bristle brush with a nylon quill hair brush...

So far I'm absolutely loving it! It's not too sharp and doesn't pull out the shape of the curls but adds that volume and glossy texture and appearance, we vintage girls crave!

T-Bar Delight...

I'm a massive lover of T-Bars so when I saw some for hardly nothing, I could only do one thing...
buy some!
These Molly T-Bars should have been £22 and I got them for £8!

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas...

Christmas table was set for 12 this year, obviously mom, dad and my 4 siblings, along with my aunt, uncle, nan and grandad; however this year my brothers girlfriend also spent Christmas morning and Christmas dinner with us...

Mom has a knack for floristry and was able to create two fabulous centre pieces for the table...what a woman!

Starter: Classic Prawn Cocktail

Main Course: What else would you have on Christmas than a roast Turkey dinner with all the glorious trimmings!

Dessert: Christmas pudding was the main dessert but there was the option of mince pies with brandy cream...

A good old cuppa...
To accompany teas and coffee we had a Panettone, if your new to Panettone it is an Italian sweet bread loaf that you eat with jam or butter...

Chocolates were also offered with tea and coffee...

What did I get for Christmas?

This is no way intended to brag or show off, I know from myself that it's quite nice to have a nose at others people possessions and I wanted to share everything with you, so I decided to post what I had for Christmas...

I was a very lucky girl this year, spoilt rotten by everyone...

Beauty galore...skin products, makeup, nails, tanning, hair and perfumes!

Like most girls I'm totally in love with soap and glory so any S&G product is welcomed with open arms! My brother and his girlfriend surprised me with this nail care package, that included a hand moisturiser that I may say smells incredible, hand scrub, Emory boards and a selection of two nail polishes...

Perfumes...

Ed Hardy is a childhood favourite of mine and momma always gets me a bottle for Christmas...

Lady GaGa, Fame is a new fragrance I was introduced to by a friend, although it's not the longest of lasting perfumes it does smell glorious; and the bottles pretty cool!

Avon,  Soft Musk which is a everyday perfume...

Bits and Bobs...

Gil Elvgren is a genius in my eyes so it's always a pleasure to have something that includes his art, last year I had a 2014 Gil Elvgren diary that had a pinup portrait for every day of the year; so having a calendar for next year is perfectly, especially now I have quite a few dealines at university...

New makeup bag that features 7 classic beauties...

After watching a number of YouTube tutorials on vintage 1950's hairstyles I decided to ask Santa for a curling tong to try out these techniques. I've always used heated curlers in the past but the curls never seem to hold so I'm venturing out into the hairstyling world and will let you know how I'm getting on...

I was incredibly lucky to receive a new camera this year, hopefully this will improve the quality of my blog pictures and capture the beauty in everything!

Aside from being a vintage fan I'm also a huge lover of Ralph Lauren so it was a shock when I opened the wrapping to find a Ralph Lauren side pouch this morning...

Lingerie is a love of mine and Christmas is a time to take advantage of new underwear, this is one of the sets I received this year; a deep burgundy bra, French knickers and suspenders. In addition to that some Stockings with a black seam were thrown in aswell...

I've never been a fan of candles but lately they've grown on me and now I can't get enough! So candles were on my Christmas list this year...

This gorgeous chest was a present from my brother, purple being my favourite colour and the vintage flare that covers it he knew that I would love it!

Well I hope this has entertained you for a little while and that you have enjoyed reading it, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best for new year and 2015!
